Boxerwood Gardens
A horticultural treasure located less than a mile from Lexington.  The garden is a mature collection of rare and unusual trees and shrubs hosting more than 2,400 specimen plants.  The garden was established in 1957 by Dr. Robert S. Munger.   With more than 40 years in the making.  Boxerwood is simply too beautiful not to visit anytime of the year.  Something is always in bloom and the wildlife is impressive.  Last spring and summer a nest of green herons hatched, in addition to the ducks, hawks and pileated woodpeckers that frequent the gardens.  It is always changing, day by day, season by season.
